What is full mouth rehabilitation?
Rebuilding your bite, not just your teeth
Over the years, teeth can wear down from grinding or acid, crack, lose old fillings and crowns, or go missing. As they do, the bite can collapse: teeth get shorter, the front teeth can meet edge to edge, and each repair has to work against the same forces that caused the damage in the first place.
Full mouth rehabilitation rebuilds your teeth together, to a healthy, stable bite. Worn teeth are restored to their original shape, strength and height, missing teeth are replaced, and your smile gets back the length and brightness that wear gradually takes away.
Is it for me?
When a full mouth approach makes sense
Worn teeth
Teeth worn short, flat or thin by grinding, clenching or acid erosion, often with sensitivity.
Teeth grinding →A collapsed bite
Teeth that have worn or moved so the bite has closed down, or the front teeth meet edge to edge.
Many failing repairs
Lots of large or failing fillings, crowns or root fillings that keep needing attention.
Missing teeth
Gaps or a failed bridge, alongside other teeth that need rebuilding.
Dental implants →Chasing problems
If you’re repairing one tooth after another, a planned approach addresses the underlying pattern instead of the symptoms.
Your smile
Short, worn or uneven teeth that make you look older than you feel.
The building blocks
What your treatment might include
Every plan is different, combining the most conservative options that will last for each tooth.
Palatal veneers
Thin restorations bonded to the inner surfaces of worn upper front teeth, rebuilding and protecting them without removing healthy tooth.
Composite build-ups
Tooth-coloured composite bonded onto worn surfaces to rebuild what’s been lost, with very little, if any, tooth removed.
Composite bonding →Onlays and crowns
Handcrafted by Corus Tusk, to restore and protect badly worn, cracked or heavily filled teeth.
Crowns and onlays →Porcelain veneers
To rebuild and transform the front teeth where they show when you smile.
Porcelain veneers →Implants
To replace missing teeth with implant crowns or bridges, placed and restored by Dr Rohan.
Dental implants →Canine risers
Small additions to the canine teeth that guide your bite and take pressure off the rebuilt front teeth.

Your dentist
Dr Rohan Shaffery
Full mouth rehabilitation at Pearly Whites is led by Dr Rohan, an area he has a particular interest and experience in. He has a special interest and advanced training in oral surgery, implantology and periodontology, and became a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh after completing a Master’s in Clinical Implantology.
Because he places and restores implants, treats gums and rebuilds worn teeth, he can plan every part of your treatment together, working closely with the ceramists at Corus Tusk.
How it works
From consultation to your new bite
Toothwear consultation
An appointment to look at your teeth and bite, talk about what’s bothering you and whether a full mouth approach is right. It’s £99, credited towards your planning fee.
Complex case planning
A thorough assessment with further X-rays and scans, photos and study models, and digital planning with our laboratory. It’s £1,000, credited in full if you start treatment within 12 months, and committing to planning doesn’t commit you to treatment.
Your plan
At a review appointment, Dr Rohan shows you exactly which teeth would be treated, how and in what order, with the exact costs, often with options at different budgets.
Healthy foundations
We make sure your gums are healthy first, and treat any infected teeth, before rebuilding begins.
Staged treatment
Your teeth are rebuilt in planned stages, each paid for separately, so you can spread the treatment and the cost.
Protecting your new bite
A night splint protects your new teeth, alongside regular hygiene visits and check-ups.
Planned, not patched
Why plan the whole mouth?
Repairing one tooth at a time often means chasing problems as they come up, with each repair working against the same bite forces that caused the damage.
Acting from a planned position, at a time of your choosing, is almost always more predictable and more conservative than reacting to breakages later, when teeth are more broken down and treatment is more complex. And a plan you can comfortably afford and actually complete is worth far more than an ideal plan that stays on paper, so we’ll always help you find the right balance.
Looking after your new teeth
Keeping your results for the long term
A night splint
A precision Nobrux splint protects your rebuilt teeth from grinding and clenching while you sleep.
Night splints →Healthy gums
Healthy gums are the foundation for any restorative work, so regular hygiene visits are essential.
Gum health →Regular check-ups
We check your teeth, bite and splint, so any problem is caught early.

Questions
Full mouth rehabilitation FAQs
What is full mouth rehabilitation?
Rebuilding worn, broken or missing teeth together, to a healthy and stable bite, with a planned mix of treatments such as palatal veneers, composite, onlays, crowns, veneers and implants.
How much does it cost?
Typically £10,000 to £25,000 per arch, depending on what your teeth need. It starts with a £99 consultation, then complex case planning at £1,000, credited in full if you start treatment within 12 months. You’ll then have exact costs for every stage, often with options at different budgets.
Does planning commit me to treatment?
No. Committing to planning doesn’t commit you to treatment, and the planning fee is credited in full if you go ahead within 12 months.
What are palatal veneers?
Thin restorations bonded to the inner surfaces of worn upper front teeth, rebuilding and protecting them without removing healthy tooth.
Who carries out the treatment?
Dr Rohan Shaffery leads full mouth rehabilitation at Pearly Whites, working with the Corus Tusk laboratory in Marylebone.
Can I spread the cost?
Yes. Treatment is done in stages, each paid for separately, and 0% finance is available, subject to approval.
Why not just fix the teeth that are causing problems?
Repairing one tooth at a time often means chasing problems as they come up, because each repair faces the same bite forces that caused the damage. Planning the whole mouth addresses the underlying pattern.
Will I need a splint afterwards?
Usually, yes. A night splint protects your new teeth from grinding and clenching.
What happens if I have gum disease?
We treat it first. Healthy gums are the foundation for any restorative work.
