Meet Daisy

Daisy, our bravest little dental assistant

Daisy is our cuddly giraffe with a very big smile, and she’s a favourite with our youngest patients. Before we look at your child’s teeth, we count Daisy’s together, and by the time we’ve finished, most children can’t wait to have their own teeth counted too.

She helps children practise brushing, gives the best waiting-room hugs and reminds everyone that there’s nothing scary about the dentist.

Treatments

Children’s treatments we offer

Check-ups

A gentle look at your child’s teeth, gums and how their teeth are coming through, with plenty of praise along the way.

Fluoride varnish

A quick, painless coat of fluoride painted onto the teeth, which helps strengthen them and prevent decay.

Fissure sealants

A thin protective coating over the grooves of the back teeth, where food and bacteria are most likely to cause decay.

Fillings and extractions

If your child needs treatment, we explain everything to them and to you first, and take things gently and at their pace.

Sports mouthguards

Custom-made mouthguards for rugby, hockey, boxing and other contact sports, made to fit your child’s teeth.

Invisalign for children and teens

Invisalign First, Invisalign Teen and the Invisalign Palatal Expander: clear, removable alternatives to metal braces, available privately.

The first visit

Your child’s first visit

  1. Meet Daisy

We keep the first visit relaxed and fun. Your child meets our team and Daisy the giraffe, and sees that the dentist is nothing to worry about.

  2. Count the teeth

We count Daisy’s teeth together first, then it’s your child’s turn: a gentle check of their teeth and gums, only as much as they’re happy with.

  3. Tips for home

We show you both how to brush, how much toothpaste to use and which foods and drinks to watch.

  4. Next time

We’ll suggest when to come back, usually in six to twelve months.

At home

Healthy habits for healthy teeth

Brush twice a day

Last thing at night and one other time, for about two minutes. Help your child brush until they’re around seven.

The right toothpaste

A smear of fluoride toothpaste for under-threes, and a pea-sized amount from three to six. Ask us which strength to use.

Spit, don’t rinse

After brushing, spit out the toothpaste but don’t rinse, so the fluoride keeps protecting the teeth.

Sugar at mealtimes

Keep sweet foods and drinks to mealtimes, and give water or milk between meals.

Nervous children

A calm, gentle dentist for anxious children

Some children feel worried about the dentist, especially if they’ve had a difficult visit before. We never rush: we explain each step in a way they understand, and stop whenever they need a break.

Dr Lia is well known for putting anxious patients at ease, and many parents tell us their child now looks forward to coming back.

Dear Pearly White Team,

I just wanted to say a big thank you following our visit today with my son.

We were truly impressed with how much the clinic has improved. Everything looks so new, fresh and beautifully maintained. The environment feels modern and welcoming.

Your team members were incredibly professional and super smiley, which made us feel very comfortable from the moment we walked in. It was such a positive experience for both of us.

Thank you again for your care and warm atmosphere. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Kind regards,
Nadya

I don't write many reviews but this one is done at request of my son.

I took him for an emergency appointment for a dental abscess. Dr Lia immediately suggested the course of action and his milk tooth was removed quickly, without anxiety and extra pain so he is on the mend now. He was very pleased how it went and so am I. The practice personnel was kind and attentive. I wish this new practice all the best!

Truly recommend to anyone who's looking for a dentist! The receptionists were so friendly and welcoming, made my children and myself feel comfortable and our dentist and her assistant were absolutely amazing with both of my kids during their check up including a very nervous 6 year old who I wasn't sure was going to open her mouth 😂 but Dr Poppy Moore managed to ease her into It and was wonderful! Also the kids loved the stickers!

Alexandra Calder

So impressed by the care and their kindness in me bringing my children. Also offered a wonderful appointment for my toddler. Overall a great experience.

Dr Lia is such a kind, caring dentist. She is great with adults and children alike. She takes the time to listen to your concerns and make you feel comfortable. Grant, at reception, is also wonderful. He takes the time to go through the forms and can answer your questions clearly will full explanation. It’s a great practice - I highly recommend!

Pepa Martinez

Poppy is just amazing, my son is autistic and enjoys coming for cleaning his teeth. I cannot recommend her more!
